Sand systems are a safety-critical component of rail vehicles – they provide support in the event of traction problems by spreading sand onto the track in a targeted manner. To ensure that the sand can be spread reliably and evenly, the entire discharge path must be free of blockages.

The heated sand pipe from elke TECHNIK has been specially developed to ensure that the sand spreading system continues to function even in adverse temperatures. The integrated heating system ensures uniform temperature distribution along the outlet pipe and reliably prevents the formation of ice or clumps.
