HISTORY OF elke TECHNIK GMBH
1948
Founding of elke TECHNIK by the engineer Fritz Kerner in Ellwangen.
elke TECHNIK manufactures stamped and turned parts as well as electrical components.
1950 to 1960
Vulcanization is being developed as a further core technology for the processing of elastomers in elke TECHNIK.
The first tools are designed and built. The new customer-specific components and solutions will be supplied to the companies BOSCH and VARTA, among others.
1960 to 1980
On the basis of its own know-how (materials, processing), a series of electrical connectors for commercial vehicles and heavy, robust applications is developed.
The manufacturing technology with thermo- and duroplastics is being expanded.
With its own large tool and mould shop, a new customer base for technical plastic parts is established. With the tailor-made solutions from a single source, tools and precise plastic parts, BARTEC, for example, is won as a new customer.

The economic crisis and the associated restructuring of major customers are also causing a realignment at elke TECHNIK in Ellwangen.
Reinhold A. Barlian, founder of BARTEC in Bad Mergentheim, takes over elke TECHNIK in 1981/82.
BARTEC secures the Ellwangen location through orders.

In the field of heating technology for industry applications, customer-specific silicone-based electric heating components are designed and manufactured. Customers are manufacturers of rail vehicles, trams and subways, aircraft.
For heavy commercial vehicles, assemblies are increasingly being designed and assembled on the basis of existing connectors.
Marianne Barlian will be the new Managing Director and will play a key role in shaping the company’s development over the next 25 years.

A new business area in the field of heating technology is created: Under the name bamaheat®, innovative key components (heating cables, connection technology, heating mats, control technology) are successfully marketed to wholesalers, planners, installers and plant manufacturers.
