Inspired by this milestone, business with major key customers in the rail and commercial vehicle sectors reaches a new level.

Customer-focused expansion of the portfolio

With technical expertise, increasingly customized solutions are offered for modern rail vehicles, such as heating mats for comfort heating in sanitary areas or driver’s cabins.

Frost protection solutions for safe access to large buildings and parking structures, as well as robust connectors for reliable electrical contacts in commercial vehicles, are developed and manufactured.

In 2005, Michael Fuchs joins the company as Managing Director and, together with Marianne Barlian, forms the executive management team until 2023.

A new business segment in the field of thermal technology is emerging:

Under the name bamaheat®, innovative key components (connection technology, heating mats, control technology) are successfully marketed to wholesalers, planners, installers, and system builders.

In 2000, Marianne Barlian becomes the new Managing Director and plays a key role in shaping the company’s development over the next 25 years.

In addition to the already existing Connector line of products a new product line, consisting of silicone based electric heating components is added to the product range.
Products withstanding an enormous amount of strain become the central concern, since clients are manufacturers of railroad engines, tram lines, underground train cars, airplanes, SUVs, and military vehicles.

For heavy-duty commercial vehicles, assemblies are increasingly being designed and assembled based on existing connectors.

The broad economic crisis and restructuring with many of the key clients entails a radical reorientation for elke TECHNIK.

In 1982, Reinhold Barlian, having recently joined the ranks of associates, develops a continuation concept, saving a substantial number of jobs in the process.

The production site depends on BARTEC’s purchase orders for its economic survival.

Inception of the Connector line of products, an array of electrical plug Connectors for heavy-duty usage, based on process engineering developed by elke TECHNIK.

Due to very high output figures in tool production and injection moulding production the firm aquires a great number of new clients requiring synthetic mechanical components. Extension of the branches of both thermoplastic and duromer production.

Clients are now in a position to be able to obtain very specific implements and synthetic mechanical components from a single source. BARTEC, requiring high-precision synthetic components joins the customer list.

Development of the specific know-how needed for the vulcanisation process and production of elastomers.

First-time production of special implements used in the vulcanisation process Production of elastomer and synthetic mechanical components for firms such as BOSCH and VARTA.

Foundation of elke TECHNIK by engineer Fritz Kerner in Ellwangen.

Production of sheetmetal stamped parts and articulated joint elements as well as an array of electronic devices.
