Extendable steps are essential for barrier-free and safe access to rail vehicles—especially when platform heights vary. Since these steps are usually stowed under the car body or outside the thermally protected vehicle structure, they are directly exposed to the weather in winter.

The step heater from elke TECHNIK was specially developed for installation in and on steps. It reliably protects movable entry steps from freezing and ensures their full functionality at sub-zero temperatures.
