Development of a modular cyber-physical electroform heater
elke TECHNIK offers many years of expertise in the development, construction and manufacture of silicone-based electroform heaters.
Ellwangen, November 2022

The application of digital technologies was placed at the center of the cooperation project concept. On the one hand, the electric mold heater is to be developed as a prototype for flexible, adaptable molds (adaptive), energy efficiency, controllability, accuracy and safety and, on the other hand, the manufacturing technology is to support and simplify the desired technical functionality.
The simultaneous development of the technology and the product should enable the individualized and resource-saving design and manufacture of electric form heaters as an innovative system solution in the future. The core idea is to digitally shape the design and adaptation of the electroform heater and to use digital technologies to manufacture, test and make it more intelligent.
In addition to a robust design to protect against external influences, the temperature limitation is crucial for the safety of the electric heater in the application in order to enable use in potentially explosive areas (e.g. flammable gases and dusts) and thus in process applications.
The project is being implemented in cooperation with Aalen University, Center for Virtual Product Development. The project partners complement each other ideally in terms of technology and expertise.
